New “Cash for Clunkers” Program for Appliances: The California Department of Energy has received $35.2 million in federal stimulus package funding that would allow participants to receive significant rebates for swapping their old energy inefficient appliances for new, Energy Star rated appliances. The program began on April 22 and will continue until funds are exhausted.
