  • Go Solar: Go Solar is a program sponsored by the California Public Utilities Commission and Energy Commission and provides a variety of rebate programs.  If you’re thinking about installing solar panels as a part of your project this page is a must!

Energy Efficient Design Resources & Incentives: Southern California Edison and The Gas Company offer incentives, programs, tools and other resources to make your project energy efficient.  With growing consumer and regulatory preference leaning toward green products, these programs will help enhance the marketability of your project.

  • California Solar Initiative: The California Solar Initiative (CSI) is designed for solar contractors, self-installers, managers, and PV owners. It features new and updated information on the CSI program. Learn how to complete the CSI forms, take advantage of rebates, metering, monitoring, shading issues and CSI’s online database.   • Savings By Design: This program offers design assistance for buildings – both new construction or the addition of square footage, a tenant improvement or major renovation to an existing structure.
  • Sustainable Communities Program: This program offers incentives for large mixed use projects, and other commercial projects including new construction for multi-building projects with aggressive energy efficiency and sustainable design goals.
  • Tools and Training Programs: Take advantage of resources and training sessions offered by Southern California Edison and the Gas Company regarding energy efficiency and green building practices.
  • Energy Resource Center: Offered by The Gas Company, provides seminars, training, building operator certification, and a food service equipment center where businesses can test equipment before purchasing.
  • California Advanced Homes Program: This program provides incentives for building homes that exceed California Building Energy Efficiency Standards. More detailed information can be found in the California Advanced Homes Program handbook.
  • Building Energy Efficiency Standards: California energy standards are updated every three years. This online resource center helps you to stay informed and up-to-date with the most current standards for new construction, additions, and alterations to existing buildings.

Financing & Funding Resources

  • Better Buildings Financing Navigator: The U.S. Department of Energy offers this tool to help navigate through various financing options for energy efficiency projects.
  • Funding Wizard: Search here for grants, loans, rebates and more to fund sustainable projects.

Tax Incentive Programs: Find ways you can save money for your project through a variety of incentives and tax credits.  The sooner you act, the sooner the savings will start to add up.

  • Tax Credits from ENERGY STAR: Many of the same tax credits available to homeowners are also available to businesses.  You can qualify for a 30% tax credit on solar panels, windows, doors, insulation, roofing materials, water heaters, and air conditioners.
  • Tax Incentive Assistance Project: This non-profit group is designed to give consumers and businesses information they need to make use of the federal income tax incentives for energy efficient products and technologies.

ENERGY STAR Program: ENERGY STAR can help builders and other home industry professionals to differentiate themselves in the market. New homes that earn the ENERGY STAR certification provide lower utility bills, greater comfort, and enhanced durability for homebuyers, while helping to protect the environment.
